I Plate

BT Wholesale has launched a new filter for the main telephone socket called the I-Plate that can be self installed by the home owner, and which can increase speeds by as much as 4Mbit/s although more typically improvement is closer to 1.5 Mbit/s. Actual improvements depend on the levels of noise present in each home.

Award Success for BT I-Plate

I-Plate - the BT Wholesale gadget designed to improve broadband performance in UK homes and businesses - has scooped a top innovation award.

It won the telecommunications category of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) 2009 Innovation Awards. Now in their fifth year, the IET Innovation Awards reward the most outstanding innovations within the science, engineering and technology community.
